5-Minute “Sneaky” Chocolate Sauce With Seasonal Fruit

Create a decadent sauce by heating together dark chocolate chips, unsweetened cocoa powder, plain unsweetened almond milk and pure vanilla extra. Then puree the sauce with chickpeas for extra creaminess, fiber, protein and folate.

INGREDIENTS

SERVES 12

  • 1 1/2 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 7 oz Plain Unsweetened Almondmilk
  • 1 tbsp Cocoa, dry powder, unsweetened, HERSHEY'S European Style Cocoa
  • 1/4 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 3/4 cup Chickpeas (garbanzo beans, bengal gram), mature seeds, canned, solids and liquids, low sodium
  • 8 cups Pineapple Chunks, Fresh

DIRECTIONS

1 In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, stir together the chocolate chips, almond milk, cocoa powder, and vanilla just until chocolate is completely melted and sauce is smooth, about 4 minutes.
2 Add chickpeas to blender. Drizzle in chocolate sauce. Cover and puree until velvety smooth.
3 Pour chocolate “fondue” sauce into a microwave-safe serving bowl; cover and chill.
4 When ready to serve, heat the sauce in the microwave on HIGH for 1 minute, or until steaming hot.
5 Serve with pineapple or seasonal fruit of choice.
