Southern Living Macaroni and Cheese

Creamy, homemade macaroni
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Margarine
- 1/4 cup Flour
- 2 cups 2% Milk
- 2 cups Barilla Plus
- 2 cups Medium Cheddar Cheese
- 1 1 Egg
- 1/4 tsp Salt
Directions
1. Prepare pasta according to package directions.
2. Meanwhile, melt butter and salt in a saucepan over medium heat. Gradually whisk in flour until smooth; cook, whisking constantly, 1 minute.
3. Over low heat, gradually whisk in 2 cups milk; cook, whisking constantly, 3 to 5 minutes or until thickened.
4. Stir in cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. Remove from heat; in a separate bowl mix together 1/4 of the cheese mixture with the egg. When completely mixed, combine the egg mixture with the cheese mixture.
5. Pour macaroni into a lightly greased 13- x 9-inch baking dish. Pour the combined cheese mixture over the pasta in the baking dish. Mix.
6. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
