Making your fries from apples turns a savory side dish into a satisfyingly sweet dessert. These oven fries get their flavor from cinnamon and coconut sugar -- not the refined white sugar found in most sweets -- so they’re a healthful way to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Ingredients

Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Peel and core the apples, then slice into thin “fries” (each fry should be roughly a ½-inch thick).
3. Add the butter to a microwave-safe mixing bowl and microwave on high for 5 seconds at a time until melted.
4. Pour the apples into the bowl along with butter, add the spices and coconut sugar, and stir until the apples are coated.
5. Transfer the slices to a baking sheet lined with greased parchment paper.
6. Bake for 12 to 14 minutes, turning once after 7 minutes.
7. Remove from oven and serve immediately.
