Tangy green bean recipe that is sugar-free but sweet from the Maui sweet onion and sour from the apple vinegar. Celebrating my first green beans of the season. This light green bean recipe is terrific with seafood.

Ingredients

Directions

Place the green beans in a steamer basket set over a large saucepan of boiling water. Steam 'til bright green and crisp-tender, about 5 minutes.

In a medium skillet, fry the bacon then remove leaving the drippings in the pan. Add the onion and cook over high heat, stirring until softened, about 2 minutes. Add the vinegar and sugar; stir to dissolve the sugar. Remove from the heat and add the beans. Season with crumbled bacon salt and pepper, toss well and serve.
