Oatmeal, yogurt, fruits and nuts, with an added scoop of protein powder.

Soak oatmeal overnight in enough water to cover (do this in the refrigerator). In the morning, remove any excess liquid. Peel and shred apple and add to oatmeal. Add yogurt and protein powder and mix well. Add sliced strawberries and bananas.

NOTES: The basic building blocks of this recipe are the oatmeal, yogurt, and apple, but there are many variations--it can be made with dried fruit (soak fruit with the oatmeal overnight), various flavors of yogurt, almonds or other nuts, or pretty much any fruits you like or that are in season. A serving of 1/3 of this recipe is quite large; 1/2 the recipe should sustain nearly anyone all morning and is ~495 calories.

Prep time given obviously does not include overnight soaking.
