For this slaw, almost any grain will taste good. We used a combination of black rice and short-grain brown rice to create a uniquely delicious pairing.

Ingredients

Directions

1. Mix the oil, tamari, vinegar, orange juice, honey and ginger to make a dressing and set aside.
2. Place the sesame seeds in a small frypan and toast them over medium heat, stirring continuously, until they begin turning brown and fragrant. Approximately 4 minutes. Then set aside.
3. Mix the cabbage, carrots, celery and rice in a large bowl. Mix in the sesame seeds and dressing.

Note:
This recipe uses ¼ cup black rice and ¾ cup brown rice cooked in 21/2 cups of water for 45 minutes.
