“Recreational soccer” is a loose term that refers to soccer leagues that are perceived to offer play at a lower level than travel or other competitive leagues. In reality, however, a soccer team is as good as its players. The top divisions of some recreational leagues can be quite competitive, while matches in a travel league can end in blowouts because of the disparity between playing levels.
