Sit-Up Exercises

Army Exercises and Elevation Situps

Army exercises maximize the strengthening ability of traditional exercise, from situps to pushups. The Army method of doing situps further isolates your abdominal muscles, making cheating difficult by rocking your legs or anchoring your feet. This variation of the traditional situp is known as a bent-leg, elevation or elevated situp, because you are elevating your lower body and isolating your core abdominal muscles. Check with your doctor before beginning an exercise program, especially if you have health problems.
