How to Use a Facial Scrub With Muscovado Sugar

Muscovado sugar is a lightly processed cane sugar. Juice is extracted from crushed sugar cane and then boiled to concentrate it. Impurities are skimmed off the top of the boiling juice. Unlike white sugar and brown sugar, the molasses is not removed from muscovado sugar. When the sugar cane syrup is dry, it is broken into large irregular crystals with more nutrients than white refined sugar, making an ideal base for a facial scrub. Muscovado sugar is a natural source of alpha-hydroxy acid, used in many facial products.
