Arizona Training Camp: On the Open Roads
Following a fast and furious day at the Nissan Arizona Test Center, the Scottsdale crew enjoyed the luxuries of sleeping in (if you consider a 10:00am ride “sleeping in”). By mid-morning, temperatures had already reached a pleasant 70 degrees F (21 degrees Celcius). Riders and sponsors were very cheery as we set out on an "easy" three-hour cruise across Arizona back roads.
However, the relaxed pace for a professional cyclist proved a little more aggressive for even our most fit sponsors. Let’s just say some of our sponsors and staff very much appreciated a Team RadioShack hand on the back of their bike up the tougher climbs. It was amazing how Chris Horner made pushing a person uphill, while carrying on a conversation, seem like a walk in the park. No sweat!
Perhaps Ben King’s favorite part of the day came next – an In N’ Out burger feast. The West Coast “delicacy” can luckily be found in Arizona to the delight of many of the riders and sponsors.
Enjoy these pictures of the Team RadioShack Americans out on the road with our supportive sponsors. You’ll see these days we have a lot to smile about! Stay tuned for more updates from Sunny Scottsdale, Arizona.
