About Stage 11
By Chris Brewer
Did you hear that?  That was a collective sigh from the majority of the peloton as the alps are in the proverbial rear view mirror.  We’re halfway through the race and the day is flat in the south of France.  Bring on the sprinters…

About Sisteron
Sisteron, a town of 8,000 inhabitants, acts as a stage town for the first time in this year's Tour. Sisteron is not new to cycling, as it is a regular stop for the Paris-Nice race. Located between the Alps and southern France, Sisteron is known as the "Gateway to Provence," and like the town of Gap, is a stop on the famous Napoleonic route.
The monumental Sisteron citadel, which dates back to the 12th century, provides a wonderful panoramic view of the Durance River. The town also offers pleasant gastronomy, in particular its lamb and sweet apples, both produced locally. Visitors to Sisteron enjoy the hiking trails and walking paths of the countryside, as well as the plethora of water activities including canoeing, kayaking, rafting, tubing and fishing, to name a few.

About Bourg-lès-Valence
This is the first year that Bourg-lès-Valence, situated in the Drôme area of Southeastern France, plays host to the Tour as a stage town. Bourg-lès-Valence is located near the Rhone River, in the valley of the same name.

Tourists to Bourg-lès-Valence can see the town's history and evolution by visiting the renovated cartridge factory, which now houses the Image Centre, an institute dedicated to animated films. Pompery Street is also a popular site: it's one of the oldest streets in town. Students in the area are lucky to attend the Lycee des Trois Sources, a school in the beautiful 17th century castle of Valentine.
