Beginning his sprint from a long ways out, Katusha’s Denis Galimzyanov timed it just right to take the win in the one-day race of Paris-Brussels, beating Yauheni Hutarovich (FdJ) and Anthony Ravard.  Team RadioShack was active throughout the day, working to get sprinter Robbie McEwen in a good position.  A few hitches in the closing kilometers caused some loss of position, putting McEwen in 12th for the race.

Despite making the course harder in hopes of avoiding a mass sprint, it was another day for the fast men of cycling with Francisco Ventoso (CarmioOro) taking a surprising win ahead of Romain Feillu (Vacansoleil) and Stefan Van Dijk of Verandas Willems for third.  Team RadioShack’s best-placed rider was Tomas Vaitkus who placed near 15th (more results when available).  Ventoso’s victory put him in an elite club of one as the only Spaniard to capture the win in the 90 editions of the race.
