I have struggled with my weight and body issues all of my life. I am now 38 years old and happily a stay at home Mom of 3 kids. (Thank God at least 2 of them are finally in school). If you also stay at home then you know the joy of that statement.
I have been diagnosed with a form of Type 1 diabetes and now wear an insulin pump 24/7. I have been on some form of insulin for about 2 years now and I have stopped losing weight. I am trying to accept that as long as I stay under 145 and my BMI is 22 that I'm in great shape and should be deliously happy with that accomplishement. I'm trying. I have learned that I have to work twice as hard as others non-diabetics to lose a pound.
I am also dealing with the diagnosis and daily syptoms of fibromyalgia and diabetic nerve damage in my legs. (YES, FIBRO IS A REAL ILLNESS!) It has it's own crappy medications that have to be taken throughout the day and also have the wonderful side affect of weight gain. Wonderful!
After 3 children I am extemely proud that I can say this: NO more maternity or "XL" clothes for this southern girl-never ever again!
My goal for 2009: Enjoy Life and stop sweating the small stuff. GET ACTIVE! BE ACCOUTNABLE! STOP MAKING EXCUSES! AND ALSO, Be happy! Enjoy life, also enjoy my family.
