About Me:

I joined LS 3 years ago and have had great success. I joined at a time when I was reinventing myself and preparing for my wedding to my second husband, the love of my life and the funniest man on the planet ;-). It had been a long and arduous journey to that point... a divorce, being a single mom and working like crazy to support my son and I. Times were tough, but I prevailed and created a great new life for my son and I. I began to shed things that weren't working for me... relationships that drained my energy, jobs that weren't a good fit, activities, people and things that didn't support my new vision were let go of. Then came the weight and the letting go of that. I lost 30 pounds in 2 years. I've gained 12 of it back and for Fall of 2011, I commit to bringing sexy back! September 19th will start my new venture. I'm in a much different head space than I was when I first started this process. I'm not panicked about walking down an aisle with all eyes on me. That was some pretty serious motivation! I don't have that same laser focus that I did. I'm more calm and relaxed. I'm more confident, in a way, than I was. In a way, I've come to the place where I will need to be more mindful and intentional in my practice. I have a 30 day yoga pass, a 12 session Barre pass, my bicycle, 30 day shred and I want to try a personal training package for 21 days to see if it might be a good fit for me. I will start with my bike, 30 day shred and the 21 day training. I want to be a little more fit before I head into yoga pants ;-). Along with the exercise, I commit to 3 months of clean eating. I will slowly wean myself from carbs & sugar and I'll strive to move towards greens and protein again. That yielded my biggest successes. I will do the y-c and colon cleanses for 30 days each. My Clear and Specific goals are these: Be 132 or less by December 25. Create an environment that supports healthy digestion... Fiber, fitness and fluids. Be sugar and bloat free. How I get there is of less significance to me. If I engage in all that I've listed above... these goals are attainable. xoxo k p.s. Today, I feel... tough morning. nightmares last night, clt cancelled last minute-- which in this case was super disrespectful and i think today it really is setting in that i didn't get a break over the weekend.

so, the sky is a little overcast. it's 72 out there and I have oodles of hours til I have to head to work, so, I'm thinking that I'll finish cleaning the kitchen and then take good care of moi! maybe a walk, maybe a shred-- but some movement, and a nice slow pace.

Our neighbors invited us over for a great bbq last night. My last culinary hurrah ;-) It was nice to have a lovely full red, some tangy ribs, veggie skewers and some baked beans. I made a super simple salad that was a complete hit and totally clean. People kept raving about it. I think I may have it for lunch today--I'll whip up a new batch. It was lovely to chat the evening away with good friends and our besties!

May your weeks be lovely!

-----

made myself the most yummy snack of roasted fennel, steamed broccoli, grape tomatoes, scallions and brown rice-- drizzled with lime, evoo and a dash of sea salt. uh--YUM!

________________

today is much improved nutritionally over the weekend. I'm happy for that.

xoxo

I'll be around for the next couple weeks... here and there. I'll pop in to your diary zone to check in! Know that I'm thinking of you all and that I fully support you in your endeavors! I may not be here day to day, but I am giving energy to my cause.

much LOVE!

Today, I feel... okay.

going on a little journey with my nutrition. I've gathered oodles of supplements and recipes and am going on a super green detox. veggies only -- for 2 weeks and then adding seeds/nuts/low sugar fruits in after a few weeks.

my body needs to get out of dysbiosis. I really want to be able to lose weight again and I just know that in order to lose weight, I have to get the intestines to cooperate. Sugar, fruit, bready carbs, grains, nuts, seeds, alc, caffiene, animal protein, dairy, beans ... all of it is out! Greens, greens and more greens with lemon, lime, a slice of avocado-- some sea salt and fresh herbs. YUM! sauteed baby bok choy, spinach, broccoli, pea pods, lemon, garlic and scallions. green smoothies and juices. homemade veggie broth and the therapeutic aloe detox shakes.

My gut and my waistline are gonna thank me.

I'm back at shredding for the next 60 days and cycling 4x a week. I'll be walking "the Enso" for my down time ;-).

I'm not sure how active I'll be on LS-- depends on my energy.

This weekend has yielded me the great opportunity to get my nutritional plan and my HOUSE in order. My abode is currently still a work in progress, but I've got a deep clean going and it's bound to be spotless in a matter of minutes!

Tuesday.... what a bummer.... all of your plans gone? that is sad.. so sorry to hear that!!

Have a great week...
I'm so sorry to hear things fell through like that! How weird to have it all happen... and on a holiday weekend when you'd think the hospitality industry would be at the top of their game. Ugh, hope you guys got some quality time either way. Good luck with the green cleanse!

Today, I feel... surprised. Our weekend away has had a very strange turn of events... like 180 degree turn of events. Long story short we experienced an EPIC FAIL on our weekend. I just laugh about it because it's too weird to even comprehend. Every reservation we made for the weekend failed. hotel, spa, flowers, even dinner. I've never experienced anything like it. We bought lottery tickets just in case the cosmos had something else in store for us ;-)!!

I feel bad for hubs mostly. He REALLY needs some relaxation and this weekend was really for him. I need it too, but I'm much better at giving that to myself day to day. He NEVER gives it to himself.

So, not to bemoan the subject... just sharing the life and times. It'll be interesting to see what we do with this :)

Happy Saturday!

Today, I feel... YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! Today my vacay begins. The morning will be wrapping up last minute details/chores. I want to come home to a clean house on Monday. I'll throw a mani pedi in there and pack my remaining returns so that I can get them done this weekend. I'll pack and then I'M OFFFFFF to la la land.

Our flowers should be in our room when we arrive, cuz I'm having them delivered. Our spa appointments start at 7 so we're planning to get there around 5-5:30 so we can partake of the lovely environment-- sauna, heated pool, gym if we so desire. I've heard wonderful things about the spa at the Peninsula. I bought Todd the Uplifting Mint Experience ;-) It's a 2 hour "ceremony" with a tea and foot ritual bath to begin. Then it's mint and apricot exfoliation and massage. The boy is in for a treat. They say he'll emerge a deeply relaxed ... new man! He so deserves this!!! I can't wait to see what he thinks. I am having a balinese massage with aromatherapy, hot stone and a "sweeping movement" massage. 90 minutes is all you have to say to me and I'm IN!

We've requested our favorite room at the Park Hyatt... we had our wedding reception there, so we know it well! It has this sweeping terrace that overlooks the lake and the water tower. Absolutely lovely. Hopefully we get it. If not though, they said they'd give us the best room in the house. Okay... I'm game!

I'm toying with whether to sleep more or ride. ahhhh time will tell.

Have a wonderful weekend! Stay safe. Rock the Holiday!

xoxo

Just got back from my ride! I love that my body clock has shifted and I am up at 5:15 these mornings! LOVE that! Beautiful ride today! I want to remember I need:
new gloves
new odometer
tuneup
better bike shorts.

Awwww! That's awesome, enjoy your vacay chica!!! And it sounds like you will! I've already broken my 90 day with a bag of animal crackers.. ;) This next bit of eating isn't going to be healthy in regards to staying in calorie or avoiding anything, but I plan on enjoying every moment. XD

Today, I feel... great! Like the weekend draws near and I am excited! Enso is going to the farm today to be with his buds! We decided he'd prefer that as opposed to hanging with us in the hotel. I purchased my flower arrangements for our room from my fave little off beat florist -- they did our wedding ;-). Now I feel like I just need a day of juicing to get myself back on track and feeling better physically. I've let my food and bevvy intake go where it may this week and I'm not feeling so great... not in comparison to how I feel on my smoothies and juices.

YES! Green juice to start my day. Green smoothie and then a pineapple mint smoothie for a refreshing bev as we hit 90 and humid today. EEEK!

Yesterday was very productive! I found some beautiful peonies and lilies at the farmer's mkt. They were out of kale but I found some lovely swiss chard. So all is well! The biggest load off was my returns. That has been weighing heavy and so unloading the bulk of that task was amazing. True relief.

I just returned from a bike ride and I must say it gave me a great idea. I am going to walk 30 miles this weekend. I think that means 60,000 steps. So I have to do the math to see if that is correct.

I won't have my bike, but I'll have that lovely lake calling my name... so the most accessible activity is walking. No real gear to speak of except some cute workout get ups and my kicks. I can handle that.

Thought of YOU today, Michelle, as I pushed through my 5 am resistance and got my butt out the door for a ride. Short but sweet!

Chores this morning and Clients and Billing tonight! ALL Good!

Have a K.A. Thursday, y'all!

OMG! I just made reservations for 2 hour massage experiences at the Peninsula! Now can you say BLISSED OUT??!! I absolutely cannot wait for our weekend!

Haha it's so worth it! You have some fantastic burns on that plate! I'm really excited for your weekend away (I'm living vicariously). It sounds like an absolutely gorgeous break, and you so deserve it after how hard you're always working!
From Noressa:
Yum! I found baby kale at Costco earlier this week and I'm loving it! No thick stems to cook slightly off of the whole leaf. Kale is quite possibly one of my favorite veggies now (from someone who didn't even know about it 2 years ago!). Chard is also delicious, but I have to admit I'm in love with stuffing them more then anything. Stuffed swiss chard leaves are really just fantastic. :)
Blissy doesn't BEGIN to describe it! WOW! Your trip to el lago sounds like HEAVEN! LOVE that you bought flowers to take along.... LOVE LOVE LOVE that!!!

Fantastic burn today.... WAY TO GO, KamaBanana!!

Today, I feel... that life is funny. I feel a little stressed because I have big plans for this day and I'm not certain I can fit all of the fun in! After Sam heads off, I'll clarify what my must haves are for this day and proceed as time allows.

I'm a little nutritionally challenged since that training started. I think that since I will be a bit relaxed on the nutrition this weekend, I'm finding it difficult to go K-mando on myself with the food. What's the point. I'll find my way back to sanity...I'm actually not far off course. Just not crystal clear about it all.

I could use another day of "blank slate" before I head back to client work. I'm finding it hard to manage both my own "work" and client work. I need to feel pretty stable and "clear" of my own stuff to really be present and solid for clients. All part of the developmental process of evolving.

What do YOU have on the docket for the day?

I'm going to consider this:

a bike ride
farmer's market (i really need greens, herbs and flowers) YAY!
returns-- I want that $ back! ;-) YAY!

the house can wait... except the kitchen sink. DONE

I need to sign sam up for his comedy class DONE
and get paperwork ready for billing process.

That would be a super productive day.

From Noressa:
That sounds like a delightful day all things considered! Mine is going to include getting caught up on laundry, dishes, make dinner, ship protein powder off to Deb and pick up the house a bit. I'd love to do a workout, but I'm still exhausted from the weekend. XD
How marvelous that you got in such a long, wonderful bike ride! GOOD FOR YOU! I can just picture you pedaling along in the Chicago sunshine. Hope the farmers market was a gold mine for you! What blooms did you select this time? Ahhhhh....the vision of your day brings me peace. I wish I lived somewhere I could pedal to a farmers market. You've got a lovely life, Miss K.
I did it. My bestie declined to join me so I just almost passed...but then said HELL NO, I'M DOING IT! So, I'm officially signed up for Adult, beginner jazz! OH MY! I'll provide some good comic relief for my classmates if nothing else ;)

I feel proud and brave.... and a LOT crazy! My first class is July 5th. Better buy me some pretty jazz shoes! :)

Wanted you to know you inspired me to action. Thank you.

Today, I feel... HAPPY!!!!! Okay, I'm coming back for a re-do. What's below was my morning post... this is how I feel right now! HAPPY!

For the first time in over a week I am alone, I have no pressing duty or responsibility and I have no stressor hanging over me. Work is done. Training is done. I have 48 hours of freedom before I start the ball rolling again. I am relieved and Oh SO HAPPY! Also, proud of myself for having the busiest work month in 3 years and deciding to add more to my proverbial plate AND DIGESTING IT ALL!!!! WONDERFULLY!

Blue sky, 67 luscious no humidity degrees, warm sun and a soft breeze. PERFECTION!

I need to check myself before I wreck myself ;-) (thank you zach)

Wednesday: bike ride, juices, smoothies and greens, 60g/20g plan, farmer's mkt for greens and fleur, make last returns! 10-15K steps, order flowers for our room this weekend.

Thursday: work, juices, smoothies and greens, 60g/20g plan, shred and/or bike ride, 10-15K steps

Friday-Monday: head off to la la land for a wonderful long weekend with hubs, no muss, no fuss, just lounging in a bit of luxury with no stress, lazy mornings and some great time along the lake.

From Noressa:
You have a fantastic week set out and it seems like the weekend itself was completely and utterly worth it! I hope everything you need or want with what you're working on comes to fruition with that class!
Happy to hear the day got better. You've been knocking things out of the park left and right this month. Great job!

Today, I feel... accomplished and beat. Lots to ponder and still lots to learn about the modality I was introduced to over the past 3 days. We did a lot of work on ourselves... in the therapist/client role play we actually use our own "material"/issues to practice with. Very cool. I actually did a lot of good personal work. So, I'm feeling very grateful for the opportunity to push onward. I also met some great people who I'll continue to practice with.

Sam's production of Pirates of Penzance was hilariously entertaining. Just a blast. As I mentioned, we all partied afterwards. The cast party was at our neighborhood laser show Rock'n Bowl bowling alley. Kids and parents alike had a rip roaring great time dancing, imbibing (parents only of course) and chomping on pizza.

I am home, facing the aftermath of a 3 days of the queen of the castle being gone. Clothes piled high, sink full of dishes, belongings strewn about the manse. YIKES, it's a disaster area round these here parts. But, I have my blossoming blume' wafting their loveliness throughout the first level and I will focus on that bit of beauty as I sift through the rubble of our lives to find the beautiful dark maple that lay beneath.

I must hurry... I've got clients to see this afternoon. Busy, crazy way to start m' day.

Have a great start to your week!

Today, I feel... glad to be coming to a close with the class. intensive to say the least. I'll be glad to get home to my boys and my blender. I miss my creative smoothies. Although... I've been making great little lunches for myself. I've been doing a little emotional eating at night to treat myself for making it through these crazy classes. I really hope that I can return to a place of clean eating pretty quickly. I want to get to my goal weight by July 6 when we leave for our cross country adventure!

Good job making it through those classes!

I love the layout of the chart, makes a lot more sense then what I have found on the www. Thank you!!

There's no place like home! Enjoy those hugs and kisses!!
Is your class just a quick, loaded session? I figured it would be like one night a week for a semester or something.... no?

I hope you are enjoying it.... I'm proud of you.
Good job fighting through those classes! I'm sure it's all worth the stress in the end, and I know your boys understand!
