Today, I feel... after a long weekend of not doing right...well I just have to do better. This is the last week to do SOMETHING. Let's be realistic - that something won't be a whole lot of anything. I really need to focus on sodium so that I'm not retaining any extra weight.

Also...I could just strangle my husband...I must resist the temptation to eat the big ole bag of icee pops sitting in my deep freezer. I don't know why my husband bought these darn things when he knew I was trying to limit my sugar intake. The devil is a lie. I rebuke every single one of those sugar-laden delicious pops!

I'm starting to have less of that FULL feeling. Don't know why - maybe my body has adjusted to whatever. I noticed my calorie intake was steadily rising last week. I no longer felt full with just 1200 calories. At any rate, I'll keep stuffing myself with water, veggies, and fresh fruit.

Today, I feel... ok. Ready to put in a hard workout this afternoon. I've got to do better with eating after 8:30pm even if it's just a couple of spoonfuls of something. I don't like the pudgy stomach look I have when I wake up in the morning after eating something late the night before. My waistline is what makes or breaks my shape. If it's not looking flatter then I don't feel so good about the progress I've made.

I had to put an extra notch in my belt this morning. Obviously that says alot about the direction my stomach is going. When I start losing weight the first areas that see the biggest difference are my chest and stomach. But these darn thighs are something else!! I've got to run the lenght of a marathon before I see any improvement in my thighs. Guess I'm just venting a little becuz last night I put on a pair of my "big girl" jeans and the thigh area was still fitting a little snug. Every time I stood up I had to pull my pant legs down so I wouldn't look like I had high waters on. Oh thunderous thighs please go away!!!!!

Today, I feel... ok. I'm a little bloated since yesterday. It was not a pretty sight to look in the mirror and see my legs looking thinner but my belly was poochy. It's nothing that exercise, citrus, and a bean salad can't cure.

Man, I felt drained during my workout yesterday that I couldn't finish my third lap. After looking at my diary, I believe I had not eaten enough before I worked out. Usually I will consume more carbs on the days that I exercise but I just didn't realize I missed it on yesterday. I'll be at LA Fitness today due to the chilly weather.

I'm kinda getting tired of eating squash and chicken for dinner. Thought about doing broccoli with chicken but broccoli gives me gas when I eat alot of it. Maybe I'll try a homemade spinach and strawberry salad...yummy!

Lately, I've gotten hooked on sunflower seeds...the roasted and salted kind. I know nuts and seeds are good for you but they have alot of fat, so I've got to be careful to not go overboard with them.

Today, I feel... renewed. I'm in a happy spirit. Looking foward to seeing me reach my first short term goal. I looked at myself in the mirror this morning and I just had to get on the scale...well, nothing gained, nothing lost. I'm looking good though inch-wise. Tom is still here so maybe I'll see the scale move downward by Saturday morning.

I put on a track suit that I haven't worn outside (for obvious reasons) in a while and it didn't fit snug anymore. The feeling is oh so wonderful! For my minor accomplishment, I bought some new workout clothes in a smaller size. Whatchu say! LOL!

It's 1:15pm and I'm full and sleepy. I actually bought a baked potato for lunch but just couldn't eat it. I still haven't eaten the other half of canteloupe and my apple yet. Think I'll go for a walk now. It's so pretty outside.

Thank you very much. I feel great and motivated to shed the remaining weight. Those inches make all the difference too. Especially around the midsection.

Today, I feel... still a bit tired. Much to be expected I guess. Boy was my appetite on STRONG yesterday! I didn't destroy my diet, it was just a little more than usual compared to last week's daily consumption. Will try to be more careful today.

I am proud of myself for mustering up some energy to work out at home. Usually if I go home and get in the bed, it's a wrap! No exercise will be gotten on that day. But I made a committment to get up at a certain time and I stuck to it. The first 10-15 minutes were a drag and I knew it would be, which is why I set the speed only at 3mph. When my body got warmed up, I felt the need to go a little faster...so I did. Each time I felt that I was ready to move faster, I increased the speed. I alternated my workout with jogging for two minutes and walking for two minutes. There were actually times when I lost track of time during the jogging and ended up jogging for 4 or 5 minutes. Go me!! LOL! It just brought back memories of the days when I could jog an entire hour on the treadmill...nonstop. That wasn't too long ago. I'll get there again, I know it.:)

It's interesting when I get up in the morning and look at myself in the mirror to see how my body is changing. My midsection is trimming down, especially from the frontal view. I'm starting to see sort of a bodybuilder's form with wide shoulders and a small waist. I have hips and butt that won't ever go away though. Not complaining too much about that.

It's 9pm...Tom is making me really hungry. I'm feeling weak right now and I want just one twix bar...maybe 4 of them.

It's 11:30pm. I CAVED...too shame to share the details.:(

Today, I feel... TOM is getting me down, not to mention the rainy, cold weather. I just want to go home and sleep.

Ok, so last night I ate after 8:30 pm. I was h-u-n-g-r-y! I don't feel so bad though because I only ate 1/2 canteloupe and was fine after that. Some days I win and well others I just have to dust myself off and keep trying.

Oh and one more thing...I had planned to start a "cleansing" diet today with just fruits, veggies, and no bad carbs but unh unh. I think I'm doing just fine with what I'm doing. If I'm gonna eat salads for lunch, I don't see me doing that without having a little cheese. I'm really iffy about eliminating entire food groups from my diet, even if it's just for a short while. Every time I've done that, I usually don't last very long and then when I start eating those "banned" foods again, I get out of control. I'd rather reduce my intake than to cut it out all together.

That's a good approach. If it's not broke then don't fix it. All dark chocolate isn't created equal. I tried 3 or 4 until I found one I really liked. Thanks for the music idea.

Today, I feel... wow, I am on a ROOOLLLLL! I'm down 1.2 lbs this morning. I feel like sing Victory is Mine, Victory is Mine, Victory today is Mine LOL! I can see a big difference in my mid section. This is what motivates me to resist the temptation to eat the Twix bars that have been sitting near my bedside....this is just amazing! It feels really good to be losing weight again, especially without pills, shakes, lemonades, and coffee.

Last night was not as challenging as I thought it would be. Usually on Fridays my family orders pizza. Each of us has our own pizza. And even though I order the really thin crust pizza, eating a whole one over the course of two days still is unhealthy. Saturdays are usually my splurge days but I'm sticking to the healthier foods, considering I'm trying to shape up my body as much as I can within 3 weeks. Then Sunday is another big feast day. I'm really gonna have to think about what I'll eat and constrain myself from eating other people's unhealthy foods.

Tom is here...oh boy :( Just as I was dropping the pounds consistently, I get a monkey wrench thrown at me. Oh well, no weigh ins for a week.

You are doing great. Congratulations on the progress you've made so far. When your family orders pizza you can make your own instead of ordering out. a whole wheat pita some marinara, reduced fat cheese and your choice of toppings. A whole pita pizza is less calories than 2 slices of delivery. You can add a salad and there you go. You can also try 70% dark chocolate when you want something sweet.
From keisham27:
Thanks Choz. I haven't eaten a pita in quite a while. Hopefully this version will satisfy my pizza craving. Dark chocolate tastes really bitter to me so I'll probably just stay away from it during this phase.

Today, I feel... a little tired and stressed. After taking my daughter to the dentist I began having strong hunger pangs and I wanted so badly to eat one of my favorite comfort foods. Well, I'm proud to say that I held out and instead stuck to the lunch that I had prepared to eat.

I had another moment of victory this morning...I'm down .4 lbs since yesterday! The hard work is paying off.

Last night I didn't have such a hard time with not eating after 8:30pm. I was pretty full and tired so that helped a little bit. I just need to go to sleep at 10:30. Felt just like a little baby fighting sleep and I don't know why...lol.

It is amazing that my calorie intake this week has been less than 1500 calories for the most part. I read somewhere that fiber, water, veggies, and protein make you feel full. During previous weightloss attempts, I added lots of fiber, water, and some protein but my calories intake would vary between 1500 - 2000. The biggest difference is that I'm consuming less un-natural sugar and more veggies. Most of my sugar consumption now is from fruits. It's definitely not easy incorporting veggies because I actually have to cook them myself. But I've managed to do it.

Today, I feel... a little tired. Hopefully I'll be more energized before I workout. The cold weather IS BACK. I'm really not happy about that. I was enjoying my workouts at the park. Oh well, back to LA Fitness I go.

Last nite as I was preparing to go to bed, I had this incredible hunger pang and now I realize why. I hadn't eaten enough!! I even snacked on a few cheese nip crackers and still didn't meet my daily allowed calories. I've got to definitely be more watchful of that becuz times like that are when I lose sight of my goal and ruin all that I worked for on that day. One small victory for me!!

Next week will be the start of NO starchy carbs like crackers, rice, potatoes and pasta. I've been testing my tolerance to that type of diet all this week and I feel strongly that I can do without those kind of carbs....just for 2 weeks though. And if I can go longer than that, great!

It's 1:30pm and I'm not feeling as sleepy after lunch. I did, however, have to rip off my spanx...it's was killing me!! It's a different spanx than what I wore earlier this week and I should have known that it was gonna cause me problems. I was feeling the pinch even before I got to work. But I'm good now...I can breathe...whew!

I'm starting to notice that I'm getting fuller off of less foods. It's gotta be the fruit and water that I'm taking in, oh and of course, the large salad I eat for lunch. I don't know why I'm tempted to get more than a salad for lunch knowing good and well that I'm practically stuffed after eating the salad. Now if I can just start going to bed at 10:30pm, I may not have to worry about being hungry late at night.

Oh my goodness...I just came back from a short walk at the office and realized it is actually warm outside. I think I'll be going to the park after all :) I know in order for me to meet my short term goal, I'm gonna have to up my workout days to 5. Maybe on my fifth day I can do a jump rope workout at home instead of a treadmill workout.
