31 year old woman. Raised and live in Dallas, Texas. Graphic Designer, Gardener, Animal Lover, Artist, Website Admin, Naturalist. Outgrew bike at age 13, but started cycling again 3 years ago (Saturday organized rides, MS150 in 2007).
Diagnosed with lung cancer in left lung & lymph nodes December 2007. Non smoker. EFRG Mutation. Spots in pleural space, but started wt tumor in upper lobe. Did chemo December-March. On Tarceva now. Doing well, no longer detected in lympth nodes, other areas shrunk, except one spot in upper love lung is odd. Getting PET scan soon to see if it's changing or growing.
Haven't gotten on bike at all this year, since treatment got me down. Trying to get back in shape. Side-effects from Tarceva suck.
Still bald (fuzzy blonde baby head), skin/body rash from Tarceva, daily upset stomach, body aches, and all that fun stuff. Swimming seems to help body aches, so I need to do more of that!
I need to get more sleep, get stronger, eat right. I'm still working, so it's been really hard to keep that going, but my company has been AWESOME and SO SUPPORTIVE. They couldn't be any better, and it's so great to have insurance. Hope I can get back on track and be a more productive energetic employee soon.
