OK here is how to cook hard boiled eggs perfectly every time:
Put eggs in a pot, fill with water to cover eggs. Heat on high heat to bring to a boil. When water boils, remove the pot from heat, cover and let sit 10 mins. Pour off hot water, rinse with cool water so your fingers don't burn. Peel and eat.
