Silk soymilk products ARE NOT dairy free. Despite the pervasive "dairy free" advertising from the company, Silk is actually a hidden source of cows milk. There are no dairy INGREDIENTS used in the making of Silk soy products (hence why they are legally able to label the product "dairy free"), but they are all manufactured in a shared facility that processes dairy and milk so all products DO in fact contain traces of dairy/milk (FDA does NOT equate traces of dairy/milk as presence of dairy in any given product). For further evidence just look at the actual Silk carton or packaging and notice that the kosher food label reads "U D" which means that it is contaminated with dairy via manufacturing process.
I personally have severe IgE dairy allergies, and nearly went in to anaphylaxis about 2 minutes after consuming Silk soymilk. Silk's advertising is technically within the law according to FDA, but is extremely immoral, unethical, and misleading, particularly for those with life-threatening allergies. I would encourage the company to switch manufacturing facilities to one that does not process ANY dairy/milk products, or to adjust their advertisements/labels accordingly so people can make informed decisions. Please help spread the word, especially to those who may have a life-threatening reaction to Silk products. When in doubt, trust the Rabbi (they actually visit and witness manufacturing process from beginning to end). SHAME ON YOU Silk.
