This is due to other chemicals within the substance (sucralose). Do some research on it. :)
I recommend Stevia. It's a natural sugar with 0 calories. They sell it at Whole Foods Market for $6.99-$8.99 (packets).

this really isn't good for you unless you are a diabetic. It's a highly processes chemical compound. They aren't sure what the long term affects are, but some scientists think it may increase the risk of cancer... here's a good site with information on this topic: http://blpublications.com/html/splendatruth.html

I'll tell you honestly, this does not taste like sugar. I'd say it taste better than nutrasweet, which isn't saying much. But one use for this product is on a grapefruit. You can either sprinkle one packet over grapefruit slices, or dissolve one packet in the juice of two fresh-squeezed grapefruits. Believe me, you won't taste the aftertaste. I'm very sensitive to any sugar substitutes (even that in gum) and I can't taste it. So skip the sugar, and use this substitute for your citrus.

Ok, Let me retract my statement. I will still use Splendia, but if I try Stevia and it tastes ok, I will go with that instead bieng that its natural

I used to eat Splenda but now I have discovered all the health risks, I stay well clear. The product is a mixtuyre of dangerous chemicals. Splenda was also orginally designed as an ant killer but someone tasted it by mistake and disocvered that it was sweet. Splenda poses serious health risks and should only bre eaten by diabetics.
