Hi, I'm Amber Nimedez for LIVESTRONG.COM, and today we're talking about good basic stretching for men. So, the first one that I want to do is a seated position here. You're going to interlace your fingers together, flip your palms facing away from you and then, you're going to stretch your arms all the way up as far as you can go. So, I'm going to go right about here, this is where I feel a nice stretch in my arms and I'm going to go in and flip up my hands and try to extend them up towards the ceiling. And go as far as you can go. Men typically are, are pretty tight in their upper back. So, a lot of men can only go to here. And that's okay. You're going to do this everyday and you're going to get better. So, you're going to stay here for about 30 seconds and then you're going to release your arms down. And then, men are also tight in their hips; so, we're going to go ahead and take your right leg, cross it over the left and you're just going to try to sit up nice and tall and gently push this knee down. Okay. So, if you're really tight, you maybe kind of here and that might be a, a little bit of struggle to open up your hips that way, but just work it right here, that's fine. You want to end up getting to be here, opening up that hip and then you're going to switch sides. Pushing the knee down and then gently rolling your spine, facing upright and you'll feel it in the outer part of the hip. And the last one is going to be a counter stretch and I'm going to use this, this block here and you could use a regular chair. You're just going to put your hands on the chair, scoot your hips back and your knees back and then you're going to dip your chest down and try to create a tabletop with your back. And this is really going to help elongate your spine, open up the shoulders and give you thoracic extension and breath. Spend about 30 seconds to a minute in each position. And those are a few good basic stretches for men. I'm Amber Nimedez with LIVESTRONG.COM.
