Hi, I'm Amber Nimedez for LIVESTRONG.COM, and today we're going to talk about ways that athletes recover quickly. So, the first thing that they do is stretch. So, here are a couple of stretches that help them. I'm going to go ahead and pull up my right leg here into a standing quad stretch. This really opens up the hip, and you can feel the stretch in the front of the leg, and then I'm going to switch sides. Again, opening up the hip, feeling the stretch in the front of the quad. And next, I'm going to go ahead and open up my upper body, taking my right arm up, patting myself on the back, pulling my elbow up and back, and then I'm going to stretch over to the left side opening up the side body here. So, really elongating the side body, getting my tricep nice and stretched and elongated, and then back up. And then switching sides, reaching up nice and tall, grabbing the elbow, pulling the elbow gently back, stretching out that tricep, shifting over to the right side, and feeling more of a stretch in my side body. And release. So, stretching is one thing, and the other two are really important: eating right and sleeping. So, those are three things that athletes do to recover quickly. My name is Amber Nimedez with LIVESTRONG.COM.
