The best ab-blasting exercises are one that challenge the core in a dynamic multi-directional manner while creating a metabolic demand to burn fat. Inchworms, mountain climbers, squat thrusts and med ball rotations are four phenomenal exercises you can begin incorporating to help you chisel your midsection. Let me show you. Our first exercise is the inchworm. Stand tall keeping your legs straight as long as you can, reach down to the ground, walk your hands out a little bit at a time all the way out until your hands are just beyond your head, you've got a long rigid frame, keeping your abs engaged, then walk the hands back quickly and stand up and repeat that movement. Walk out until your body is flat, abs are engaged, walk your hands back and stand up. Next I'll show you a mountain climber, come down onto your mat into a pushup position, then we're going to alternate bringing the legs in toward the elbow, directly in front of it. You can go slow or you can double time it or go cross body with the knees, change the direction that the core is targeted, then we'll move into a squat thrust. In the same position, hop in stand up, come back down, bring your hands to the floor, hop out, plank position, hop in, stand up, hands down, hop out, rigid frame, hop in and stand up. And the last exercise is a medicine ball Russian. For the medicine ball Russian, have a seat on the floor with your legs extended, leaning back slightly putting tension on your trunk receive the ball on one side, rotate, tap it down and then explosively release it to a partner or against a smooth reinforced wall.
