Hi, my name is Amber Nimedez-Lyftogt with LIVESTRONG.COM, and I'm going to teach you some stretches for flexible feet. So, I have a Thera-Band and I'm going to wrap it around my foot and I'm just going to actually pull my foot up towards my body, keeping my body upright, shoulders back and down, I'm just going to hold. What I'm going to do is actually push my foot down and then up, pushing down and up. And I'm going to do this about ten times. And then I'm going to switch; this really helps to open up the back of the foot, stretching all the muscles that were along the bottom of the foot and then pushing it down. And then up, down; up, down, up, about ten times, remembering to keeping your upper body straight, tall, long. And then I'm going to remove the strap and then what I'm going to do with my foot here is do side to side motion. I'm going to bend my bottom leg, side to side and then side to side with the other leg. And then, I'm just going to roll through the motion of my feet here. So, I'm going to bend my knees, place my hands behind my back, lifting up the chest, I'm going to roll up and then straighten out my legs and then come right back down. So, bending my knees, raising up on the balls of my feet as high as I can, taking it all the way up and then back down. I'm going to do that about ten times. "Ooop!" If you need to, you can hold onto something stable and then just remember to keep your upper body nice and tall and long, just allowing the muscles to really stretch through my toes and through the back of my foot, going through my heel. One more. And then the last exercise that I'm going to do is I'm going to tuck my toes under and I'm going to press down into the mat with my foot. You're just going to hold and release. And then same on the other side, holding and release. So, those are a few exercises and stretches for flexible feet. My name is Amber Nimedez-Lyftogt with LIVESTRONG.COM.
