Hey, everybody. I'm chef Mareya, the Fit Foody, and today I want to share with you some of benefits of juicing. Now juicing has become really popular. It's used as a detox, it's used to energize, and it's a great way to get a variety of fruits and vegetables in to your diet. Because if you think about it, if you sit down and try and eat this assortment of fruit and vegetables in a day, it may be kind of challenging. But when you juice, you can get so much more in to your cup. I'll give you an example. Just take a look at that. All of that great juice from this variety of different produce that we have here. And the key here is to start with good fresh produce. Wash it with the Eat Cleaner fruit and vegetable wash to remove wax, pesticide residue and anything that might be on the surface of your produce. It will also help it last longer. Then just go wild. You can do all kinds of different combinations. I like to lead with vegetables and add in a little bit of fruit just to add a little bit of sweetness and to keep my sugar low. Even though fruit is wonderful naturally, delivers so many nutrients and benefits, if you're watching your sugar intake you use that sparingly. But you can juice celery, you can juice lettuce, you can juice carrots, you can juice cabbage, you can juice broccoli, beets, the list goes on and on. I also like to add in a little bit of ginger and lemon just to give it that really nice fresh taste. A little bit of spice and then change things out seasonally. The key with juicing is to go with the seasons. If strawberries are in season, you can juice strawberries. Apples, same with apples. So mix it up and you can make different varieties. And aside from just being able to get a variety of fresh produce in to your glass, you'll benefit from the live enzymes and the nutrients by not cooking. By enjoying it raw you get that full benefit. Now I showed you my little combination here. I started with carrots, I've got some apple in there, I added cucumber in, which is really great, great way to add potassium, fiber, Vitamin K. And then I've got some celery in. And let me show you how easy it is. Don't be intimidated by the machine. A lot of people worry oh my gosh how does this work, but it's so easy to use. Basically, just flip the switch and let the juice do the work. And it's coming out the other side here. And there you have it. Just delicious, fresh cup of juice. And you can make this at home so easily. Save the money that you would spend at the juice bar. Five, six, seven dollars for a fresh juice, you can make it in your own home for pennies. So juice, it's where it's at. I'm chef Mareya, the Fit Foody. Here's to your health. So good. Enjoy it.
