Hello, my name is Dana Sanders, former NFL running back turned fitness trainer. We are here today at Fitness Evolution in Seattle, Washington with LIVESTRONG.com. Today's question, how do you make football conditioning less painful? Well, I've been in football a long time and I've never had a pain-free workout. So, but I do have some suggestions for you. Now, one of the things you can do to make your workout less painful is go into your agility drills, because with agility drills you can break your workout or you can actually stop, you know, take a little break and then go back to it. For instance in the NFL, we use a drill called a side-to-side drill and in this drill we would do just to work on our lateral ability. So we'd go to one cone touch and back to the next and we do that like five or six times and then the next guy would come on while the other guy is taking a break. So I'm going to show you that, you're here and you go touch, touch, two, two, three, three, three, four, four, five and five. Was that simple, I don't think so. So another exercise we do is called the cut drill. You're going to stand in the middle, you slide over, through, you back pedal back, start over, slide, back pedal back and you repeat that again and while you are resting the next person goes. And those are my recommendations for a less painful workout. Again this is Dana Sanders of LIVESTRONG.com and remember, life is a choice, choose to be happy, live strong.
