Hi, my name is Dana Sanders, former NFL running back turned fitness trainer. We are here today at Fitness Evolution in Seattle, Washington with LIVESTRONG.com. Today's question, is how to use your body weight to put on size. Well, I've got a good suggestion for you. When you are trying to put on size using your own body weight, what you have to do is trick your mind. So what you want to do is start light so doing pushups on your knees for like a month or three weeks to a month then go to doing pushups on your toes three weeks to a month and then you take a break and go back to the lighter weight again because what happens is your body gets used to lifting a lighter weight and then it goes to a heavier weight. When it gets used to that heavier weight, then you drop back down to a lighter weight to get in more reps and that way you keep confusing your mind. So I'm going to show you. What you want to do, start with your hands about shoulder width apart and you come down and if you can do these every day anywhere between 45 and 50 every morning when you roll out of bed, this is what you do. And then after about a month, you're going to go to your toes and do these. Then after a month of those, you go back down to your knees. And those are my suggestions for using your body weight to put on size. Again, my name is Dana Sanders, LIVESTRONG.com and life is a choice so choose to be happy and live strong.
