Hey there, Jackie here of Jackie's Yoga Seattle. Today at Liz Doyle's Seattle Yoga Shala. Talking today a little bit about how to strengthen the wrist to help with tendonitis. So if you have tendonitis, there's a few yoga techniques that can really help to strengthen and also relax your wrists. So the first thing I'm just going to show is if you're seated and you're having that issue to try and relax a little bit and maybe get a little space in the wrist for a little release. Literally just trying that here by taking one finger at a time and try to reach it slowly toward your arm or your wrist here. So just going through, taking your time. Putting some consistent pressure on the fingers as you start to reach the back. Same thing here to ease your wrist. You're just going to place the tops of your hand on the ground. Try to even press the tops of your wrists down and then start to lean back. So you're going to start to feel it all the way up your arm. And just be nice and soft and easy not pressing too hard or going too fast. You can start to walk then out a little further. Lean back a little bit more. The more flexion and extension you want. From there I'm just going to have you come to a downward facing dog. So as you set up, spreading the fingers nice and wide is what really starts to work properly the wrist here. And as you start to come up in to that downward facing dog really spread the fingers and start to even see that the top knuckles are turning white because you're firmly pressing the tops of your hands. Just to test yourself out to make sure you're nice and light on the palms, see if you can come up in to the fingertips here and then come back to that downward facing dog. So just learning how to be nice and light in the tip of your hand to be nice and light in your wrists. From there you're going to inhale roll forward to a high plank position and again try to grip the ground from the very top of your fingertips. From there you exhale just move right back to your downward facing dog. Just going through a few times in and out. Give it a try. So those were some tools to help you strengthen your wrist if you're having some issues with tendonitis. I hope they were helpful. Jackie, Jackie's Yoga. Thanks.
