My name is Dana Sanders, former NFL running back turned fitness trainer. We are here today in Seattle, Washington at beautiful Alki Point with LIVESTRONG.COM. Okay today's question how to gain muscle mass by doing pushups? Now I don't want you to get scared cause this is what I do. Basically what I do the first month I roll out of bed every morning 100 pushups. Month two I roll out of bed 200 pushups. Month three I roll out of bed 300 pushups. I go all the way up to 500. But also there's another way you can do this. Month one you roll out of bed, wide pushups for 50. Narrow pushups for 50. Month two roll out of bed, wide and narrow. Month three same way. Then when you go back around you go all the way to the fifth month. After that you come back you start over and you are going to go wide the whole time. If you want to put on mass you really need to be extreme with this. The downside of doing this many pushups sometimes you can get tendonitis. So I would suggest if you would like to do every other day for the first month. And then every other day the second month and so on. But this is a great way to put on some size just by doing pushups, non-weight bearing workout. And this is just one of the ways you can put on mass by doing pushups.
