Hi there. I'm Jackie, of Jackie's Yoga Seattle, today, talking about a yoga stretch that flattens the tummy. So, the yoga stretch to help flatten the tummy, my favorite one for this, is boat because there's a lot of variations. So, come to that navasana by just taking a seat and, as you take a grab behind the thighs, you're going to start to inhale, reach your chest, even squeeze the arms into the side body as you do that to pull your heart through. So, you start to engage the spine, try to keep it lifted, as you start to reach and hover the toes. So, from here you can say, alright, this is enough for me, or you can start to reach the toes to maybe a 90, or the legs, rather, to a 90 degree angle as you continue to reach your heart. And then, from there, there's another option to reach up, even with the toes here, really even express the toes to widen and open, that's a lot of strength and energy out. Again, reach your heart up and see what you'd like to do here. You can still hold the legs, there's an option to reach out with the arms or even all the way up. So, you see I do even out the breath, we're going to exhale to lower and hover and, as you inhale, try to lift the heart. So, going in and out with your breath, inhale, lift and exhale, lower. So, there's one more variation that I really like with the boat. So, you're just going to come back, see what best suits you to stay in to be able to really hold the pose. You're going to take a big inhale to reach the arms and you're going to row the boat. So, you're going to exhale, reach back behind you, try to even look back behind you. And, as you inhale, reach the heart, the arms, and exhale over to that next side. So, going in and out with the breath every time reach your heart and exhale over, try to twist. So, we're getting into the obliques as well. So, nice and slow, inhale up and exhale over. So, that was a yoga stretch for you to flatten the tummy. I hope you found it helpful.
