I'm AJ Tucker. I'm going to show you how to stretch for squatting. Typically, you don't want to stretch for too long before you go into the actual workout, but you do want to stretch to avoid injury before you work out. So, the two exercises I'm going to show you are, one is for the groin area, and the other is for flexibility for your hips and hamstrings. The first stretch is going to stretch out my groin area, so I'm going to mimic the squat position. I'm going to put my feet out shoulder-width apart, toes slightly pointed out. I'm going to lower my body down, I'm going to post my palms to the ground. I'm going to lean forward, and I'm going to pry my legs open with my elbows. So, I'm here, and I pry my legs open. I can feel a good stretch in my groin area. The second stretch, I'm going to step forward with my right foot, step back. I'm going to post both hands inside my legs, I'm going to sink my hips, and lean into the stretch. I can feel the stretch in the groin of my left leg. I can feel my hips and my hamstrings and glutes stretching in my right leg. Both of these stretches will help warm you up and prevent injury before you go into the squat exercise.
