Hi, I'm Juliet Kaska, and this is medicine ball leg routine. Medicine balls come in a variety of sizes and weights. So make sure you choose one that actually is good for your ability level. You can use a medicine ball just as you would use free weights in a leg routine. So for a squat we have our feet hip width apart. Hold the medicine ball right in front of your sternum and bring your elbows out to the side. Don't let the actual medicine ball touch your chest. Just have it hover there so you are actually working your shoulders as well. Bend at the knees and go down into your squat. And come back up. When you are doing a lunge you can hold the ball again in front of your sternum. And step out for your lunge, reach the ball in front of you. And do a rotation at the waistline and come back to center. And pull the ball back into your sternum switching sides. The ball helps to give momentum as well as extra resistance for your legs. The deadlift is another great exercise to use the medicine ball with. Reach the medicine ball down in front of you. Bend at your hips keeping your thighs nice and strong with a slight bend in the knee. And just let the medicine ball hang in front of you until you feel the stretch in your hamstrings. Engage the abs, the hamstrings and draw yourself back up to standing. The last one would be a calf raise. Hold the medicine ball in front of you and just shift your weight to one leg. Raise up onto the ball of your foot and lower down. Raise up again and lower back to the ground.
