Hi, I'm Beth Shaw, founder of YogaFit. Today, we're going to do some poses to stretch through the ribs. So we'll begin just by rolling out the shoulders a little bit, noticing how our shoulders feel and we'll also begin with some deep breathing pulling in through the muscles of the core center and in particular engaging the intercostals and the obliques. Let's inhale, take the arms to the sky, squeeze the glutes to support and protect the low back, let's bring the right arm down and stretch the left side of the body, hips pressing forward on each exhale sink in a little bit more. So at the end of your exhale you will find yourself in a deeper place in the pose. Coming back up, glutes tight, core center strong, let's switch sides, exhale, exhale, inhale, exhale. So the more you can squeeze your glutes, the more you will feel the stretch at the entire side of the body. Let's come back up, switch sides again and you can get into a flow once you are warm moving with the breath, from side to side and you'll really feel the stretch in the obliques, the intercostals, in the lats.
