Hi, I'm Beth Shaw, founder of YogaFit. Today, we're going to talk about postures for yoga for a degenerative spine. So, if you've got spinal issues, you're going to wanna limit your range of motion, and be very gentle, but it's also still important to stretch. Therefore, you'll need to modify existing postures that will stretch the spine, like a forward fold. Use some blocks or some eggs, and just be very easy and modify each pose. Don't overstretch, but make sure that you are getting a little bit of a stretch. Most important here is not to force or push the pose. One of the best postures to do is also lying down spinal twists. So, we're gonna lie down on our mats, bring your knee into the chest. And, bringing both knees to the chest really is great for the back. So, if you've got any bulging discs, be very careful here, any dislocated discs or slipped discs. And, keep one knee into the chest. Avoid the lower spinal twist but just alternate, bringing one leg in and repeating a few times. Always check with your doctor or your chiropractor before engaging in a yoga posture, or yoga class if you've got degenerative discs. I'm Beth Shaw, founder of YogaFit and this is yoga for degenerative discs. Thank you.
