Hi, I'm Teresa Howes, and welcome to My Fresh Kitchen. Today, I'm gonna show you how to avoid overeating and eating at irregular meal times. So a really healthy diet, you'll definitely want to start it off with a solid breakfast with Greek yogurt, maybe some berries, oatmeal and almonds, or even black beans and eggs. All of those options will give you a lot of protein and a lot of fiber, plus really quick energy to get you up and going. Make sure you have a mid afternoon snack. Fresh fruit is a great idea for a mid afternoon snack because it gives you lots of simple energy, but also has fiber, so that you stay fuller longer. And when lunch kicks in, fill up on fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and lean meats. And it's okay for your lunch to be your largest meal of the day, because it will help you stay fuller later on, and keep you from snacking. Later on when the afternoon hits, you want to make sure you have healthy snacks on hand, and you want your healthy snacks to be full of heart healthy fat and lean protein so that you stay full and satisfied. Really great options are things like almonds, or celery and peanut butter, gives you about five grams of protein, and well under 100 calories. When you get home and you have dinner, same thing as lunch. Make sure that half of your plate has fresh fruits and vegetables on it, and that you have a good portion of lean meat, and you're using some healthy fats. Here are my three favorite tips to avoid snacking. First off, sugar free bubble gum. Sugar free bubble gum is great because it will cure a sweet tooth, and you'll have gum in your mouth so you can't put any food in it. The other best option is as soon as you finish dinner, make sure you brush your teeth, floss them, and use the most antiseptic mouthwash you can find, because once you have a really clean mouth, the last thing you want to do is put more food in it. And another option is if you're really looking for something soothing or comforting, make a cup of hot tea, zero calories and full of phytochemicals and polyphenols, which are good for your health.
