Hi, I'm Teresa and welcome to my fresh kitchen. Today, I'm going to show you a proper portion size of a meatball. Now meatballs certainly aren't famous for being the same everywhere you go, right. They're different from kitchen to kitchen and restaurant to restaurant. And whether that be the recipe or the serving size, it's all over the map. So what I have for you here today to help make sense of it is a couple of different meatballs to look at. So the first one here these little guys, these are one ounce each. Then sometimes you'll find them a lot bigger and these are actually three ounce meatballs and then here sometimes you'll find this monster meatballs and that's right here. This is a five ounce meatball. So if you think about the proper portion size of meat generally speaking, it's between four and six ounces. So depending on the restaurant or the kitchen you're at and what size meatballs they happen to make, if they're smaller on the one ounce size you know you're going to be pretty safe if you have about five. But if they're in the medium size, then you'll want to make sure you limit yourself to two but if they're these big guys, then you're better off just sticking with just one.
