I'm Diane Hoch, and this is nutritional facts of asparagus. Asparagus is a powerful disease preventer, cancer fighter and natural detoxifier with nutrients like folate and vitamin K, asparagus promotes strong bones and wards off disease. The natural diuretic asparagine in asparagus helps to keep down water weight which is fantastic. One of my favorite ways to eat asparagus is to roast it. So it's quite simple. You just take the asparagus stalk and to know where to snap it because all you need to do is snap it, no need for a knife or anything, you take the bottom piece and then it naturally snaps where it's supposed to break. The part at the end that's going to snap off is actually quite woody and it's very sinuous so you're not going to want to eat that part, it's tough to chew, so just a little snap and there you go. So from here we would just take our asparagus, place it in a parchment lined baking sheet, drizzle with a little olive oil, put some sea salt on it and in the oven, 375 degrees for 20 minutes and you have a delicious treat that actually will help you keep down water weight and strong bones and ward off disease, fantastic food to eat, keep eating your greens.
