Hello, my name is Max Jaben, and I'm here to discuss swimming and life saving skills. The number one life saving skill is prevention. We need to learn how to recognize and prevent trouble from happening. Then number one life saving technique is prevention. We need to make sure to prevent dangerous things from happening before they even happen. The first way to do that is do not let anyone get in the pool with clothes on. I've seen what happens when people get in the water with clothes on. The clothes become drenched in water and they hold you down. They make you much heavier than what you are in the water. So please do not let anyone wear clothes while they're in the pool swimming. The second is remove all unsafe flotation devices. These devices they give children and people false sense of security and they also block the vision of chaperons or life guards that are looking over the water. They need to be able to see what's going on in the water and see if people are having any trouble while they're swimming or playing in the pool.
