Hey, guys. My name is Robert Weeks, and today I'm gonna be teaching you about how to block Jiu-Jitsu. Okay guys the best way to block Jiu-Jitsu is to be a great wrestler. What does this mean? This means great sprawling techniques and this also means great footwork. This means not looking for a battle on the ground cause Jiu-Jitsu practitioners are very good on the ground and they can submit you very fast giving them just a little bit of leverage and that will be the end of the match. You're gonna want to make sure that you learn how to properly shoot and sprawl. A good wrestler is never on his back and a good Jiu-Jitsu practitioner will always be on his prime when you're on your back. So being a good wrestler you're gonna definitely want to make sure that you're not on your back and that you're always on your feet and always ready to sprawl when they try to take you down. The biggest thing is when they try to throw a shot at you. When they try to throw a shot that means they're trying to take you down off your base. They're trying to get you on your back and they're trying to submit you or get to a leverage point where they can submit you. What you're gonna want to do is you're gonna want to explode off your hips. Your hips are gonna be very important for your sprawl. As seen here I'm gonna watch him as he commits for my feet or my hips. Once he does I'm gonna immediately explode off my hips almost as if your cat was scared of a ghost or scared of the wind. You're gonna see the cat jump back and almost land back on it's feet. I'm gonna do the same thing except I'm gonna push his head towards the ground. Okay guys and that's how you block Jiu-Jitsu. See you next time.
