Hey, guys. My name is Robert Weeks. And today I'm going to show you the difference between Shaolin and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Just like any martial art they're all relative. And they are all strong. But they don't have any advantage over any other martial art. The only advantage is going to be the person practicing it. But in this case what we are going to have is advantages. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has a really good advantage on the ground. Their grappling is really intense and as soon as they go to shoot and submit you there's really very little you can do with the leverage that they put on you. But with Shaolin they have very powerful strikes and very powerful kicks. So if the Shaolin artist can keep him off of the ground then he has a very good chance of winning. But if the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu artist can get him on the ground he stands a lot higher percentage chance of winning. So once again it all depends on the person practicing the martial art itself. Shaolin will have a lot more kicks and a lot more punches, with a lot more form. You'll see a lot more steady punches. A lot straighter punches. And you'll see a lot less elbows and a lot less knees. Whereas Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu you'll see a lot more locks. You'll see a lot more elbows. And you'll see a lot more knees being used to their advantage. So once again it's just going to come down to the person practicing the form. And that's the difference between Shaolin and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. See you next time guys.
