Hi, I'm Jay McLeod. Today, we're talking about deadlift workouts for the buttocks okay. Ladies, if you want to reshape and lift your butt, you've got to do deadlifts, okay? Not only are they great for building a strong backside but they are also an awesome cardio and core workout. The first exercise I'm going to show you is the traditional deadlift, okay? You're going to start with a straight bar, okay, you can go with weights or with without. This bar right here is 45 pounds. You're going to begin with your feet shoulder-width apart and ideally the bar pressed up against your shins so I recommend you wear high socks so you protect your shins. From here you're going to drop, you're going to grasp the bar in an overhand grip, okay, you're going to drop your butt down as if you are picking up a box off the ground. Here, now I'm going to look up and I'm going to drive through my heels and shoot my hips forward and stand up. Now, from here I'm going to inhale as I slowly lower my weight, exhale and power through my legs to return to start position. Inhale coming down and pushing your hips back, okay, you can tap the ground with the weight if you choose to, right back up, shoot your hips forward, exhale nice and strong. Okay, pushing my hips back the same way I do with a squat. The next exercise I'm going to show you is the stiff leg deadlift okay? Place a little more emphasis on your hamstrings, okay just a nice hamstring stretch and contraction. Now from here we're going to bring our feet a little closer okay, feet hip-width apart, okay, still dropping our butt down as if we are picking up a box, okay, hands right offside our knees. Okay we're going to stand up by shooting our hips forward, pushing through our heels, okay. Now in the top position my chest is out, my shoulder is back and my eyes are focused forward. From here I'm going to relax my knees, slight bend in my knees, I'm going to lean forward from the waist, pushing my butt back making sure my back is flat. From here, once I get that good stretch in my hamstrings I shoot my hips forward and I stand back up.
