Hi, my name is Elizabeth Hoover, and today I'm going to tell you how you can lose 20 pounds at home. Now we all know that exercise is very important and there's a lot of different ways that you can exercise to lose weight. However making sure that you're maintaining a properly balanced nutrition plan is very important. In fact research shows that 70 percent of getting results through your workout is based on following a good nutrition plan. Today I'm going to show you a nutrition plan that will set you up for success. This is called the five S's of success. Making sure that you are eating small meals consistently throughout the day is going to help to increase your metabolism, stabilize your blood sugar. Take away those cravings that we get late in the afternoon and in the evening. And also help you to maintain that full feeling throughout the day. We are going to start our day with a healthy meal shake. So you probably heard breakfast is the most important meal of the day. In fact it is. Two to three hours later we are going to eat a snack. Now your snack needs to be a pair. And what I mean by a pair it means to have a carbohydrate source along with a protein. An example would be an apple with a string cheese. Or maybe some cottage cheese with some peaches. Always thinking about portion control as well. Then we are going to move to our second shake and our second snack. I like to have something like some celery that's going to give me some fiber. And then also a protein bar. Something that's going to give you that little bit of chocolate sensation that we're craving usually late in the day. The last meal of the day is going to be your supper. And t his is going to be what's called a colorful meal. Making sure that the fruits and vegetables take up almost half of your plate will help you to make sure that you are getting fiber in your diet. And to keep you from overloading on some of those higher calorie portions such as meats and things like that. Some additional tips would be to find a calorie tracker so that you can obtain the appropriate calories for you. And make sure that you are logging all of your food throughout the day. Also you want to make sure that you drink a lot of water. I recommend drinking at least half of your body weight in ounces of water throughout the day. The water will help to maintain your metabolism. It will help to give you energy. And it will help you to feel full. I know this might take a little bit more planning and preparation on your part. But if you fail to plan then you plan to fail.
