Hey, everyone, this is Angelique Millis. Today, we're going to talk about the advantages of having strong hamstrings. So one great benefit to strengthening your hamstrings is to help prevent against any future injuries you may have. You want to make sure you are stabilizing your knees, so by incorporating hamstring exercises you're going to be able to work towards that. A great way for you to improve your hamstring strength would be deadlifts. Begin by grabbing a pair of weights. You're going to hinge forward at the the hip, go straight down towards the ground, let your legs have a slight bend but you're going to lift up using your hamstrings. When you get to the top of the motion you're going to squeeze your butt as tight as you can and lower back down. You want to hit about a set of 12 to 15 of these, especially if you are doing a little bit heavier, you maybe want to do closer to eight to ten. The second exercise that's going to help you improve hamstrings are your box bridges. So you're going to begin laying flat on the floor with your feet on top of the box, bring your hips up as high as you can, squeezing tight in the glutes and then lowering back down.
