I'm Diane Hoch, and this is metabolic types and food choices. Metabolic typing is a science that customizes your food choices based on your specific metabolic type. Learning what that is can have a huge impact on your health and weight management. There are three basic metabolic types, protein, carbs or mixed. So for a high protein type if you digest proteins and that's better for you, we're looking at beans, we're looking at the fats in nuts and seeds as well as of course animal protein if you eat that. For carbohydrate types, not the processed carbs, we're talking about vegetables like root vegetables, beets and sweet potatoes and potatoes or cruciferous vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower and kale or a mixed type which allows you to oxidize both and digest them as well. So depending on your type will depend on the type of foods that will feel better for your own bio-individuality. All aspects of our metabolism require energy and food is the fuel we use to create that. Once you know your metabolic type, you will determine what type of fuel works best for you.
