Hi, this is Kiya Knight, creator of WEightless Worldwide, the evolution of mind body fitness, and today's question is for the ladies, and you want to know, can I workout on my monthly period? The answer to that is that it's a two part answer. The first part is a hormonal part, and that's that you're progesterone and your estrogen levels are actually lower in the week leading up to your monthly period, and the week of your monthly period, which makes you feel a little bit more powerful, and it also increases your recovery time. So you may find that during your monthly period, as long as you're not experiencing cramping and bloating, you might have an amazing workout. However, your body is also doing a lot of work to cleanse and clean, and that can have a huge energy cost. So if you feel tired and lethargic, it is not a good idea to put yourself in the gym lifting heavy weights, because you put yourself at a higher risk of injury. Remember the most important thing is to listen to your body. If you feel energized, and you feel like you wanna get in the gym and get an awesome workout, go for it, but if you're tired and you feel weak, it's probably a good idea to let your body rest and recuperate, and get back in the gym when you feel energized and strong.
