Hi, I'm Marcos Avellan. And we're going to cover what foods you should eat before an MMA fight. Obviously eating is very important and what you eat is right before you engage into combat is even more important. And I'm going to cover that right now. There's lots of theories regarding nutrition and sports performance. But I'll give an unconventional method that I use for myself and my fighters. The morning out for breakfast, I always have plain pancakes, no butter, no syrup, just the pancakes by itself for the carbohydrates. Then, four, five hours out, I'm only going to have very simple food which is a plain bagel. And the reason for that is because before a fight, lots of people get nervous and their stomachs start to turn, they get jitters. It's a very common sight to see fighters throwing up in the locker room before a fight. So, to help the food go down easier, a plain bagel and some simple fruits like a banana or an apple or some chopped cantaloupe. And that's all I'll have four to five hours out before a fight. And in the locker room, if I'm still hungry, I might chew on a power bar. And by having these simple foods, I reduce the risk of my stomach getting nauseous and will be able to hold down my food better for the violence that's about to come up.
