I'm Greg Mc Lean, and I've got some unique methods for working with dumbbells. The great thing about dumbbells is you can take them anywhere. They're unique to your body, so as far as getting a better workout, whether you want to go to the park, stay at home for 15 minutes before you head into work, even if you've got 20 minutes after work, kids are taking a nap, great in the sense that you can work any muscle in the body. Rather than getting on a machine that does a lot of the work for you, the dumbbells force our body to do the work, and as a result the stabilizers in the joints as well as all the small muscles that run up and down the body all get recruited by using dumbbells, which a lot of times we don't get in the gym by using machines. So dumbbells are great, whether we add them into a regular squat to make an exercise a little bit more challenging, or we're just doing a bicep curl or an overhead press. They're great for challenging all the stabilizer muscles as well as those joints that a lot of times you're not gonna get working with machines.
