I'm Ben Brown, and this is how to learn Muay Thai online. When you look at the art of Muay Thai, the cornerstone of their techniques is the round kick. So what we're going to spend the next couple minutes doing is taking a look at how to break that down and throw the perfect kick. So starting from a standard Muay Thai stance, the first step you need to take when you throw a round kick is to step onto your toe. The standing leg, that of course is the leg that's not kicking needs to be high up on the toe. The higher you are on the toe, the more hip involvement you get and we all know that's where your power truly comes from. So you've started by stepping on that toe, heel out. The next step is to get the upper body in the right position. As your right knee starts to come up, your right hand starts to move back. We do that because it's a very natural movement. It's how the body was meant to move. As the right leg goes forward, the right hand comes back and you point the knee at the target. Now taking that all over from the beginning, you step on the toe, point the knee, the final step is going to be to flip the heel around, allowing the hips to transfer through the target and you release the leg allowing it to make contact.
