Hey, flyers. My name is Danielle Wechsler, and today I'm going to share with you some insider tips on how to become the perfect cheer flyer. Although flying may look effortless, you really have to maintain full body control to perfect every stunt. The first exercise to really strengthen your core and maintain that body control is holding a hollow. To hold a hollow, lay on the ground with your back flushed up against the ground, squeeze your core and extend your legs. Make sure there is no room underneath the ground between your back, hold the hollow squeezing your core. The next exercise is a burpee. This is my favorite total body move because it works cardio, builds endurance and works your core. As you do a burpee focus on exploding through each movement really focusing on squeezing that core, jumping through the balls of your feet. And for that last exercise we're going to be doing a single leg balance with your eyes shut. Although this may look effortless, shutting your eyes challenges your receptors and you want to visualize you standing in that liberty stunt, core tight, holding your weight.
