Hi, this is Michelle McLafferty, and this is how to do a water Zumba workout. Zumba is a Latin dance-inspired workout, so when you bring it into the pool it's like a dance party in the pool. You're going to be using some simple Latin dance techniques as well as bringing your arms and legs fluidly through the water for a whole body resistance workout. So, start out with a basic step, get your hips moving and then bring your arms in forward and back. You can have music on so you can move in rhythm with the music. So, then, you're going to bring leg forward, push the water back, scooping it up and back, sliding that heel back, squeezing the muscles in your gluts and engaging the core while you push and pull. Next step, you can add some sideways motions and bringing in the arms, pulling the water back. You're in the water, so you have a lot of resistance, you don't need to go fast, keeping your shoulder blades down and scooping up as you step onto the back heel.
