Hi, this is Greville Henwood with Groovy Kids Yoga and these are massages and stretches for the shoulder blades. It helps us here to look at the entire shoulder area in terms of massaging stretching really a well rounded workout or well rounded and balanced routine is going to be the most healthy thing for the shoulders. We can use equipment or we can use very, very, very simple things. For example, one of the best ways is simply to hug yourself, really give yourself a tight hug. It will stretch the back of your shoulders. Another way is simply to clasp the hands behind the back and then open across the chest from inside to out so that stretches the front of the shoulders. Another way is to take the arms and then cross the elbows like so and this will again stretch the back of the body. So those are some very, very, very simple stretches. We want to stretch the front and the back of the body. In terms of massaging, perhaps our greatest friend will either be the tennis ball or a foam roller and then the idea is that the foam roller or the tennis ball is on the floor or on the wall and then you are able to lie down or lie against the wall and move your body so that the tennis ball actually moves wherever you need the massage or the stretch.
